Classification of glass defects has been an historical challenge.  Dark Field Technologies has powerful Glass Classification Scanners (GCS) that deliver the requisite optical information to ensure reliable defect classification.  Examples of these defect classifications include Tin Drops, Stones/Solid Inclusions, Seeds/Closed Bubbles, Open Bubbles, Digs, Scratches, and Rubs.

New optical techniques provide the ability to determine the position of the defect in the body of the glass and measure its location from the first or second surface.
