Panel Length, Width and Squareness

Producers of solar panels have rigid size requirements for incoming glass, sometimes to the nearest 200 microns (0.008").  Most glass companies and glass cutting operations cut glass ± 1/32".  Therefore, the needs of the solar glass users are more stringent than the abilities of the glass producers; panel length, width, and squareness measurements need to be taken on incoming panels.

NxtGen optics and special algorithms measure length, width, and squareness of each incoming glass, while also inspecting the panel for float glass defects, top tin, edge chips/cracks, broken corners, and flairs.  All measurements are performed 100% on-line, in real-time.

Unique NxtGen Features and Benefits:

  • Control incoming glass quality; reject panel criteria.
  • Increase field life of completed module.
  • Operator-friendly Windows® user interface.
  • Communication links to plant network.
