Producers of solar panels have rigid size requirements for incoming glass, sometimes to the nearest 200 microns (0.008"). Most glass companies and glass cutting operations cut glass ± 1/32". Therefore, the needs of the solar glass users are more stringent than the abilities of the glass producers; panel length, width, and squareness measurements need to be taken on incoming panels.
NxtGen™ optics and special algorithms measure length, width, and squareness of each incoming glass, while also inspecting the panel for float glass defects, top tin, edge chips/cracks, broken corners, and flairs. All measurements are performed 100% on-line, in real-time.
